As I frolicked reflecting on groups I’ve led and have been part of in addition to what made these groups nice or mediocre, a thought popped into my thoughts. Past the fundamentals that make for an excellent workforce, what actually set ‘the very best’ aside? I went via my psychological record of traits and one apparently floated to the highest — encouragement. Groups that inspired one another tended to be extra profitable, at the least in my expertise.
And as my expertise is proscribed to groups I’ve been part of, I widened my lens a bit and checked out sports activities. Not shocking, I discovered plenty of info that confirmed my concept.
